Dead Beyond Fear is a five-piece metalcore band from Barrie, Ontario. Their high energy sound merges the roots of old-school thrash & metalcore and modern melodic technical metal for a progressive “rollercoaster” of melody, emotion, power.
Formed in 2016 by vocalist Phil Ross and rhythm guitarist Sean Weston, whom began jamming together in early 00’s. They used an online message board and met Marc Lambert (bass), who had a project rooted with long time partners Matt Morton (lead guitar), & Chelsea “Chellfire Drumz”, who came on board in 2018.

Dead Beyond Fear have opened for such metalcore giants as Unearth, Darkest Hour, Threat Signal and many other rising names in Ontario Metal, including Kavara, A Scar for the Wicked, Dawn Vally, Halfway Through Hell and Esoteric Docterine.
They released a full length album in 2019 called “Malice for the Hated Enemy” boasting 13 original tracks. Singles include Hands of Pain, Descent Into Oblivion and May Mercy Mend. In early 2020 the band began writing songs for their next release entitled Chamber of Isolation.

Phil Ross (Vocals) :
Born in Brantford, Ontario.
Phil developed an intense passion for music at a very early age. His interest in heavy metal was triggered by Twisted Sister’s vocalist Dee Snider. It did not stop there. It flourished as his music interests evolved as he grew, picking up influences from a wide range of genres from the likes of Shannon Hoon, Maynard James Keenan, and Tim Williams. Phil has been working on his vocal technique since he was fifteen and is still honing in on his skills. He has fronted two other bands before forming Dead Beyond Fear.

Matt Morton (Lead Guitar):
I grew up in Bradford Ontario.

Started jamming and playing shows with the local metal band Axiom at age 15. Grew up with the old school thrash like Metallica, Iron Maiden and Exodus. My influences are from Paul Gilbert to Randy Rhoads to Mark Morton. Met up with Marc Lambert a couple of years ago and starting writing again. Recently scooped up by Dead Beyond Fear. Shredding with a 7 string Schecter and hooked to a Mess Boogie Dual Rectifier.

Marc Lambert (Bass and backup vocals):
Raised in Penetanguishene, Ontario.
Inspired by the blues, psychedelic, and prog rock. Vocalist for the first half of musical career. Started off doing vocals at the age of 16 and casually played bass. Was the vocalist for many metalcore/progressive deathmetal bands in northern and central ontario. Decided to get back into playing bass at the age of 26. Locked himself away in his room for several years studying under the ways of many different styles of playing and genres. After taking a break from playing live music returned to session play for some bands and be a part of a place he called home at the foxx. Phil Ross met Marc online through a music hub after showing his support for local music when he defended a fellow musician being picked on. Phil kept in touch. With, scouted and several years later recruited him to join dbf.

Sean Weston (Guitar):
Born in Aurora, Ontario.
Sean has been playing guitar for over twenty plus years and fifteen have been with Phil Ross. They met in 2003 and shortly after formed Opposite To Origin and later Dead Beyond Fear together. Sean has a very unique playing style and writes riffs that get stuck in your head for days. Sean’s greatest influence is Tom Morello. Sean uses Ibanez 7 string and Line 6 amps.

Chellfire (Drums)
Chelsea began playing drums in 2003 with an interest in metal and hardcore at that time, bands like Metallica, Poison the Well, System or a Down, Slayer.
Lamb of God were her primary practice material until she felt confident about drumming with others. She began a sporadic yet significant working relationship with Matt Morton and they joined a band called Axiom in 06-07.
In 2013, Chelsea began studying drum theory more seriously, and tried about 5 projects at various points in her 20s.
In December of 2018, Chelsea was invited to join Dead Beyond Fear.
Chelsea uses Pearl Vision drums hardware, Tama Speed Cobra double pedals, and Meinl /Sabian Cymbals.
